We bought our place 6 months ago and just got the second half cook county, il tax bill that is 5k over what we got during our closing. do i have any recourse to sue for the difference from my attorney?
The taxes for 2007 had been set and were more than the ones for 2006 which i assume were used to establish the taxes that we would pay for the end of 2007. The attorney did not check the changes for 2007 and therefore now we have to pay about 8k in the difference due to his lack of due diligence.
I would sue for the taxes that we have to pay while we had not owned the property and agreed to during the closing. We have to pay the second of 2007 and the first half of 2008. All other taxzes i accept full responsibility.

Don’t they realize that they’re wasting tax payer dollars? Don’t they realize that they have absolutely ZERO chance of affecting the new law? Why are the filibustering the court system by tying it up needlessly?

I have talked to several with no satisfaction.

My situation is thus: Last week I inadvertantly nailed my foot to the floor with, what I thought, was a quality nail gun. After running in circles for aboout an hour, I became dizzy and rammed my head into the doorframe. Thanks to the Para- Medics, I was rescued from what could have been a much more serious fate.

Anyway, all of the attorneys I have talked to say I can’t sue myself for negligence. Why not? I have a lot of money. Why can’t I get some?

my husbands sister has 2 boys ages 10 and 2 their dad has had nothing do with them pretty much their whole lives. he doesnt see, call, or send them bday christmas cards nothing. he does however pay child support (very little) so now all of the sudden he is taking her to court to establish visitation and wants to be able to write them off on his taxes. i think that no matter what attorney or not he will get visitation rights and he will get them atleast every other year on his taxes. so does she hire an attorney and this be what happens regardless? we will be paying for the attorney because she doesnt have the $$$. thoughts please???
the reason she is reluctant about visitation is because he has seen his oldest about 5 times in his whole life and he has seen his youngest son twice in 2 years. so the chances of him actually being in the picture and STAYING in the picture are slim to none, because he has promised this many times before only to let his kids down.
i am not sure how the tax thing will work out because my sister in law gets some public assistance (she works full time) but it is just not enough.
