I am wondering if lawyers fees are tax deductible for child custody cases. The divorce was in 1998 but we have had to go back for other reasons for schooling & etc. Are those fees paid deductible? Thanks for any help.

We are planning to start doing some fundraisers to help pay for the attorney fees for my adoption of my stepson.
