I live in Virginia

Can I deduct Federal taxes paid in 2007 on my state tax return?
Living overseas,we paid federal tax but no state tax. Will we pay state income tax with a 2nd home in NJ?
Does the IRS tax you after you already paid the federal and the state taxes on lottery winning?

No you can’t deduct rent. And the only part of attorney’s fees you might be able to deduct is an amount that was billed separately as being for tax advice, and then only if you itemize.
